Dear members and supporters,

I am writing to each of our club members to update you on the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on our cricket club, and to ask for your support.

Let me confirm with you that we at Egham Cricket Club are following all of the government and cricket body recommendations, not just with respect to pre season training, but with the postponement / cancellation of any/all club related events.

I have read a number of messages and posts on social media saying how desperately people are missing being able to use our facilities - be it juniors or seniors. This reiterates just how important Egham Cricket Club (ECC) is to the wider community and supports our current efforts to play a more important role in our local community.

With no income currently, and no time-frames of when normality will return, ECC runs a very imminent risk of not surviving into next season unless we do something different.

Let me assure you that the Exec Committee is reviewing all options for minimising this threat - but we must face the facts and look for support as soon as possible.

So I am asking you, to think about assisting us as follows:-

Firstly, I would ask as many of members and players as possible to sign up and pay the normal annual subscriptions online in the next couple of weeks.
I recognise there is no guarantee of when we will be able to play cricket again, but it is essential we are able to cover the club costs as they fall due throughout the season. To help we have created options to pay either in one go, or across two, three or four months.

Payments can be made by clicking here or by clicking SHOP at the top of the website homepage.

Payment can also be made by Bank Transfer to Egham Cricket Club,
Sort Code 20-81-11
Acc No. 20335886
*Please put your surname followed by "SNR" as a reference**.

Social membership is still required , and continues at the minimal fee of between £10 and £20, depending on the number of family members.

Secondly, I would like to ask for any donations, small or large. We recognise that families are balancing their own commitments but ask that you look to the future and the environments you would like to return to after this period has passed.
Payments can be made on our JustGiving Page

Thirdly, I would be very interested in hearing directly from any of our members how they may be able to help or advise us during this period.
I am hopeful that we can continue to utilise these skills for the benefit of the club as we emerge from the pandemic, and build a stronger relationship between our club, members , and local business and trades people.

Lastly, we have a great facility here at Egham Cricket Club, with grounds many people are envious of, and a newly refurbished club house , that we want to open up to you all as soon as this is possible.
Keep checking our website, Twitter , Facebook and Instagram (@eghamcricket) pages to see the latest updates on the club. We are even looking at creating our very own YouTube channel to add some positivity back into our daily lives at home. Any assistance you can provide will enable us to emerge stronger and ready to welcome our players and supports back to their local cricket community.

We are all in this together, and we want to continue supporting our community for the foreseeable future. Anything you can provide to us now will significantly increase our chances of surviving.

Please, please stay safe, follow the guidelines and please can I ask you again to support us in anyway you can, so we in turn can continue to support you.

We'd like to see you all back playing and supporting cricket as soon as possible.

Thank you

David Hawes
Chairman
Egham Cricket Club
